Scholarship Description:

The ASID FS Interior Design Undergraduate Student Scholarship recognizes creative, academic, and personal accomplishments among Florida undergraduate and graduate students studying interior design. The scholarship will award $2,000.00 for 1st Place, $1,500.00 for 2nd Place, $1,000.00 for 3rd Place and $500.00 for Honorable Mention to students who have been accepted or are enrolled full-time in an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate or Master's Interior Design program within the state of Florida and/or an accredited on-line Associate or Baccalaureate or Master's Interior Design program within the United States or Canada.

Eligibility Requirements:

- Full-time acceptance or enrollment in an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate level Interior Design program within the state of Florida and/or an accredited Associate or Baccalaureate level Interior Design program within the United States or Canada.

- GPA min of 2.75/4.0

- Letters of recommendation

-(1) Letter from the community (non-family)

- ASID FS student membership not required but can be taken into consideration

- Special focus will be given to students from marginalized communities and with financial needs; i.e.; students who identify as minorities, LGBQT+ and/or demonstrate financial need not be required but will be taken into consideration.

Judging Criteria:

- A paneled jury of design professionals will select candidates based upon academic achievement, creative achievement and personal essay expression.

- ASID Florida South will award 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place & Honorable Mention Student Scholarships to individuals meeting the above criteria.

- The scholarship will be announced in March 2024 for the Fall 2024-academic calendar. The deadline to apply is July 31, 2024 at 11:59 pm ET. Students will be notified of the award status in AUGUST 2024.

- All deadlines are final. Exceptions to the deadline, eligibility or requirements will not be made

- ASID FS reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and of Applicants and Awardees and to disqualify any participant or entry deemed not in compliance and ASID FS is not required to provide a reason for its determination. ASID FS also reserves the right to request further documentation, at their sole and absolute discretion, to verify eligibility and compliance with the application.

Consent and Conditions:

- Applicants must consent that all information supplied in this online application form is accurate and truthful.

- Applicant further consents that applicant has not been subject to any disciplinary action that would bring into question applicant’s integrity, moral character, or professionalism in the industry, and has abided by ASID’s and the Chapter’s Code of Ethics and policies applicable to all Chapter members.

- Applicants agree to have their name and likeness used for ASID marketing/promotional purposes.

- Applicant must recognize the ownership of all rights in the work and/or possesses the right to authorize the reproduction and display of the accepted works and to grant the rights identified herein.

- All applicants must certify that the work submitted does not infringe on any copyrights or trademarks.

- Decisions of the jurors on all matters during the judging, including qualifications and categories are final.

- All applicants grant ASID FS the right to exhibit and reproduce the work as submitted in the application, in its entirety or in part, in any media now known or hereafter created, including but not limited to exhibitions, publications, and on ASID FS’s websites and partner websites; as well as promotion of ASID and ASID FS scholarship-related editorial or events, each without limitation of any kind.

- All applicants understand that infringement always triggers disqualification, even if it’s discovered after the juror selections have been announced.

- All applicants expressly agree that ASID and ASID FS shall not be liable and agree to release and indemnify ASID and ASID FS for any expenses related to any disputes or errors concerning artistic conception, ownership, or any other matters relating to the ownership and rights granted herein as they relate to any of the entered works. In no event shall ASID FS, ASID, or their directors, officers, employees, agents or representatives be liable to any party for any loss or injury to earnings, profits or goodwill, or for any direct, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages of any person or entity whether arising from this application or applicant’s school of choice, tort or otherwise, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

- The scholarship is a one-time payment of either $2,000.00, $1,500, $1,000 or $500 to any eligible individual

- The scholarship amount may be adjusted at any time at the sole discretion of ASID FS

- Only completed applications will be accepted for review; scholarship applications will be reviewed and scholarships awarded in the order received

- The number of scholarships issued annually is up to the sole discretion of ASID FS

- Qualified individuals are eligible to receive one (1) ASID FS award per grant/scholarship year.

- The scholarship will be provided directly to the Applicant’s school if the applicant is under the age of 18.

- The grants being awarded may be considered income under applicable federal, state and local law. All taxes on or in connection with any grant and the reporting consequences thereor, are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the grant recipient.

Acknowledgement of Information Sharing:
